So far i have downloaded and successfully sent .syx to the bcr from my jx8p and dx7, but I have many more hardware synths that I wish to try out. I was wondering if S3 or S4 mode is better for hardware synths: i/ with keyboards. ii/ without keyboards Also any suggestions as to the most effective way to physically set up. Finally, is there a way to avoid sending midi to a synth which has older firmware and damaging the synth (presumably the os chip containing the firmware)? Unfortunately this happened with my korg ex8000 recently when i midi merged the bcr2000 with a midi sequencer into the ex8000's single midi in port. Any advice/suggestions gratefully received. Still learning and don't want to damage anything else. Thanks!
