Re: How to set acceleration for Faders? - for Royce

Hi Carlo

CC can only have 0 to 127 values

You could use pitch bend it has a 14bit max value

> I need to send 0-16383 consecutive values.

As Art has just shown (item 641) the faders only have seem to have a resolution of 380 or so (127 * 3) so it is perfect for CC with a value of 0 to 127 but no so good for the 14 bit stuff.
That is, the best I think you can do on the fader if you want single number resolution is to have a range from 0 to 380
ie .minmax 0 380
I don't have a BCF (feel free to send me one to test)
Perhaps you could try the following and let me know how you get on.

$fader 1
.showvalue on
.minmax 0 16383
.default 0
.tx $E0 val0.6 val7.13

My guess is that you should see something like this
$E0 $2B $00
$E0 $56 $00
$E0 $01 $01
$E0 $2C $01
$E0 $57 $01
$E0 $02 $02
....
and not
$E0 $01 $00
$E0 $02 $00
$E0 $03 $00
$E0 $04 $00
$E0 $05 $00
$E0 $06 $00
$E0 $07 $00
......
which is what you would like to see

Please let me know what you get anyway.

The .resolution command seems only to be good for the encoders, which makes sense had I thought about it.
Unlike th encoders the faders have a start and a stop point.
The .minmax value gives the output values at these points

I seem to have led you astray. Sorry. In fact I seem to have led myself astray.

Perhaps you can tell me what result you are trying to achieve and there might be another way to do it.

All the best
