BC Manager 1.1.0 available now

BC Manager 1.1.0 available now

2008-04-09 by Mark van den Berg

Hi everyone,

I've uploaded BC Manager 1.1.0 to the file section of the BC2000 Yahoo
group (subfolder "BC Manager").

This version contains a few bug fixes and some new features,
so everyone using the program should upgrade to this new version.
(Note that there's no need to first uninstall any previous version:
you can install directly "on top of" the previous version.)

Changes include:

- The manual is now included in the BC Manager package itself and can
be opened from the Windows Start Menu or from BC Manager's Help
pull-down menu.
(It is also still available separately in the "BC Manager" subfolder.)

- Closing the B-Controls window no longer leads to questions whether
you want to save and/or send a B-Control's data if it has been modified.
These questions now only occur if you try to quit BC Manager as a
whole (i.e. the main window).

- A memory preset can be copied directly to the temporary preset
('preset 0'), and the connected BCF or BCR can be ordered to follow
this change immediately.

- Individual buttons, encoders and faders in the temporary preset can
be sent to the BCF and BCR, and loaded in the BCL editor window.

- A bug has been fixed that prevented element names from being copied
to other elements, and from being cleared in the 'Initialize' operation.
This bug was also responsible for the disappearance of element names
from memory presets when a previously saved syx or txt file was being
opened.

See the manual for the full list of changes.
The manual itself has been greatly expanded, providing detailed
information on all features.

Up next: "BC MIDI Implementation.pdf" version 0.2.
Among other things, this will include a complete syntactic description
of the "custom output" (".tx") format.

Mark.

Thank´s !!
Brilliant.
One question though, is it possible to enter values with the numeric
buttons on the keyboard instead of using the mouse ?
Am I missing a setting somewhere?

Mark,

Big thanks for this!!

I'm pretty new to the group and also BCF 2000; in fact, I didn't even
have time to really try the first version of BC Manager properly but
now looking forward to getting to grips with 1.1.0.

I'm using BCF 2k in combination with an M-Audio Ozone keyboard with
Reason 4 and Live 7. So far this setup has actaully been quite kind
to me, particularly with Reason and even syncing quite well with Live
and some of the plugins used with it (?!?). However, I produce mostly
reggae/dub and house stuff so there are many presets I'm looking
forward to building, so as and when I sort out some useful ones, I'll
be sure to share them.

For now, thanks again to you and also all involved in making
this group a friendly, intelligent and extremely helpful one.

Regards,

Tommo

Hi. isnt it possible to have 1 preset to have the mackie emulator mode, and then another one a user preset? instead of having to switch the unit off/on before

Mate i think thats already been done. You can use Mackie emulator as a
preset. Check the files section.

Hope that helps.

When you're on a knob, press Alt+Enter. See section 17 of the manual.

Not brilliant:
I went to the Paypal website a few weeks ago, but it looked to me it
is very complicated to get it working from a program (especially
without your own website). One particular snag seemed that Paypal
offer several programming libraries to facilitate building donation
buttons into your own programs, but (if I remember well) only for C
and Java (and SOAP?), whereas I use Delphi. So all in all it seemed to
me as if it would be more hassle than benefit. But if there's someone
around who knows more about getting Paypal to work, or who has other
suggestions, do let me know.
