Fader automation with SX3 hints please???

Hi all, Have given up for the time being with the BC mode as the Cubase SX3 Generic Remote is so far causing too many issues for me so am using the Mackie emulation mode. I'm just looking for advice re using the faders though. I realize we don't have touch faders on the BCF, but I remember reading somewhere of someone using the faders to record automation successfully in cubase - can anyone advise me on this? In terms of arming the read or write automation for one channel or all channels for a looped section I tried but for some reason cubase doesn't seem to be reading the automation I try to put in via the faders. All the rest of the controls work like a dream, but I just can't get this working at all - sometimes I can get a first run of automation but on the repeat it is impossible to alter it. If this has already been covered elsewhere I apologize but I'd just really like opinions re doing this successfully in SX3. Many thanks again, Cheers Craig
