Using BCF2000 with 'Tracktion'?

Using BCF2000 with 'Tracktion'?

2005-07-12 by drjmcksc

Anyone out there using thier BCF2000 with 'Tracktion'? I know this
isn't a high-end audio program, but this little ditty from Mackie has
just about everything I need (especially since it was free with the
firwire card for my Mackie Onyx mixer!)...however... I need some help
with improving the interface with the BCF.

I'd like to exchange ideas with someone else who might be a little
more up on MIDI than I am. I have some basic control of Tracktion with
the BCF.... faders and the 16 keys above the faders ('mute'
and 'solo'), but I can't get the push-encoders to work. I'd like to
use them for panning. I've found the 'LEARN' function to be VERY
particular about how it learns.

There is limited "tweakability" when using the BCF2000 with Tracktion,
as it's functioning in an emulation mode, not in it's fully
programmable mode. If more of us "yell" at Mackie about this, perhaps
they will add some more controllers via a patch or something. My
understanding is that T3 will have more functionality within its
control surface settings.

BTW, if you DO figure out how to make it with your "tweaks"... i'd sure
like to know how you did it! i spent many a wasted hour just to figure
out that it wasn't going to let me... but... maybe i overlooked
something!
