Sysex details for BCR2000

Sysex details for BCR2000

2006-12-05 by rpcfender

Does anyone have the sysex maps or details of the sysex messages that
the BCR200 uses to load/dump presets?
I would like to link to my bcr2000 to some of my programs the way that
Reason and the BC editor does.
I can't find anything published and Behringer hasn't given details in
the manual.
Any thoughts?

1. Use Midi-Ox to monitor how it's done.
2. Ask Behringer for it, they will tell you if it's not to much trouble and you ask nice, maybe even repeatedly.

Have a burning question? Go to Yahoo! Answers and get answers from real people who know.

Thanks Steve. I have tried Behringer a week ago, but they haven't
answered. They elevated the status of my email though :)
Roland, Yamaha even my old EMU Morpheus has the MIDI spec in the back
of the manual. Even if you wanted to save the trees by reducing the
paper you would think that they would have this sort of stuff in the
download section of their website.
I'll keep searching. If I can't find it I'll look to MIDIOx, but it is
likely that there are messages that might be usefull (especially
request messages) that won't be displayed.
I might try to use MidiYoke between Reason and the BCR. Thanks again

Because the BCF2000 is so "programmable", the spec is probably a bit bizaar anyway. If I remember right, you wanted to know how to tickle the BCF to spit out its sysex. It should be possible to set MIDI-Ox to watch what the BCF software sends.

What I know from my own experience with Behringer and my DDX3216, I had to ask a few times before they coughed up the MIDI Implementation for it. Once I told them that no other manufacturer of any of my other MIDI gear did NOT include it with the product, then it arrived by email a day or two later. Basically, I had to get a bit pushy first. But is was frustrating that the complete documentation was not in the box with the unit, as you're seeing. I haven't needed it yet for the BCF, but it couldn't hurt to have it available. When I asked direct questions about MMC commands for the DDX, they weren't forthcomming. I wanted to link the DDX transport buttons to my DAW software, which is also one of the main uses for the BCF too, so I needed this info.

Everyone is raving about the all-new Yahoo! Mail beta.

Yes. I was after the 'request' sysex messages and the details of the
data in the returning data dump.
I have looked at the data stream comming in and out and the sysex
looks like little messages for each controller. So I have some of the
sysex sorted - how to set a value for the controller.
The Behringer editor looks like bypasses the MIDI stream and goes
straight for the USB. There seems to be many messages that don't
appear on the MidiOx screen.

Did you get a copy of the MIDI Implementation for BCF?
Any chance of getting a copy?

Here's one great app that is used to program bcr/bcf using sysex:

http://bebop.audioshot.net/bcfredit_V0.41.zip

it's 'Birdie's universal editor', you can hook it to MIDI-Ox and tap the
communication, but I think request message doesen't work there either:(

Thanks, but you are right. I've already tried this.
Reason seems the best example of grabbing the BCR and programming it
'on the fly', but I haven't quite worked it all out. I'll post my results

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
