Pan Control with Cubase

Pan Control with Cubase

2009-12-27 by _flare_

Hi,

I'm having a problem with assigning pan control (midi controller 10) to one of the knobs. The problem is that the values can range between 0 and 127 in BCF2000, however the pan range in cubase is -63 to +64. So I can only change the pan between center and right.

How can one assign negative values to parameters in BCF2000?

Thanks,

Ali

Hi Ali

You can't normally use -ve numbers with the BC (although you can if the numbers output are less than 14bit).

Continuous Controllers (this includes Pan) can't have -ve numbers.

I don't use Cubase, but with numbers like -63 to 64 perhaps Cubase has just shifted pan numbers along by 63

-63 = 0  Left
..
-1 = 62
0 = 63  Centre
1 = 64
..
64 = 127 Right

Try setting the range to 0 to 127 and see what happens

All the best

Royce
