er22 message when sending sysex dump

2010-05-13 by tkrumme5000

Please help! Everytime I try to send one of the presets info to my bcr2000 I use midi-ox and a m-audio uno. It comes up with er22 and does not accept the sysex dump. I don't know how to successfully send info to it. I have used the learn function to control my jx-10 alpha juno1 and oberheim matrix 1000. Trying to use the ensoniq vfx preset on the website. Please help!
Thanks
Tom

Error 22 means something like "invalid message index":
each SysEx message in a data dump contains a message index that has to be 1 higher than the one in the previous message. If this is not the case, the BCF2000/BCR2000 rejects the message.

At least two potential causes:

1. In theory there could be an error in the source sequence (e.g. syx file), although this isn't very likely.

2. Much more likely: a problem in your MIDI routing, e.g. duplication.
For some discussion of duplication, see e.g. "BC Manager Manual" (p. 19), available via http://home.kpn.nl/~f2hmjvandenberg281/bcman.html .
I think this issue has also come up before in this forum, so you may try searching the message archive for "Er22" (or "error 22" etc.).

Hope this helps,
Mark.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
