Windows 7 x64 BCR2000 port name issues

Windows 7 x64 BCR2000 port name issues

2010-05-25 by yeahtuna

I'm using my BCR2000 with the new MIDI Behringer MIDI drivers, however I'm noticing an annoying issue.

If you experience this issue, I'd like to here confirmation. If you don't ever experience this issue, I'd also like to here from you so that I know that it's an issue with my system alone.

The problem. Typically the ports for my BCR2000 are named as follows:

BCR2000 port 1
BCR2000 port 2
BCR2000 port 3

However, every once in a while they show up as

BCR2000' port 1
BCR2000' port 2
BCR2000' port 3

- or -

BCR2000? port 1
BCR2000? port 2
BCR2000? port 3

Please, if you do or don't experience this issue, I'd like to hear from you.

Compared to XP's 'USB Audio Device' tomfoolery its not so bad IMHO.

:)

So you're saying that you've experienced this issue as well? I'm getting in touch with Behringer's technical support and I'd like to know if this is an isolated issue or not.

While my BCF2000 performed very poorly with Behringer's XP USB MIDI drivers, my BCR2000 was absolutely 100% reliable. I would like to be able to count on it working 100% of the time again. Closing my project and then turning my BCR on and off again until the port names are connect is not how I like to spend my time.

I Google bcr2000 port name issue and founf your message. I had the same issue. Windows 7 x64, bcr2000 and bcf2000. I always have a garbage between '2000' and 'port' It made some program to not recognize the midi port. Do you find something?

Hello, I had the same problem recently. I'm not sure how to solve it and what caused it, but I have reinstalled the drivers again a few times, until the problem was gone.

I rarely look at the ports description, once I finally got it working.
