Midi keyboard->BCF->Computer Problem

Midi keyboard->BCF->Computer Problem

2010-09-14 by blomberg.anders

I've got a midi keyboard that I've got connected to my BCF2000 by connecting a midi cable from the keyboards' midi out to the BCFs midi in. The BCF is connected to my mac via USB. When hitting a key at the keyboard the BCFs midi in LED lights up (this must mean that the BCF is getting the proper midi signal?). The problem is that the computer isn't getting any midi signals. Seems like the BCF doesn't send the signal from it's input through to the computer. I'm using MIDI Monitor to check things.
The BCF is operating in Logic Emulation Mode but I don't see any change when using normal operation modes.

I'd be eternally grateful for any help! I'm a guitarist and just can't get my head around this midi-thing. I know nothing.

Hi, try connecting each unit separately to your mac, via USB.

That's what I'd do normally but am running out of USB ports on the computer. I use one for the BCF and one for the soundcard and that's it unfortunately. I am hesitant to use a USB hub.

I think you have to configure the BCF to work in the merge mode, which
is the "U-4" mode.

While having the "Edit" button pressed, press the "Store" button. The
display should show "EG" and the with the "Type" knob you can select
the "u-4" mode. Then press "Exit" to go back.

Gone through all of the programs and none of them work. Although it certainly looks like U-2, U-3 and U-4 should work from looking at the schemes in the manual.
Realized my sound card had some midi-ins so I gave them a try and it works well. Thanks for the help though!
