Two BCR2000's with Ableton Live 8 and the default remote script

Two BCR2000's with Ableton Live 8 and the default remote script

2010-11-22 by jeff.rohlfing

I have a BCR2000 connected to Ableton Live, using the default preset number 1 on the bcr, and the bcr2000 remote script selected in Ableton. It is awesome, it has good functionality, and works easily.

The problem is, I just picked up another BCR2000, and want to have it control channels 9-16, or higher. Does anyone know how I can change what channels the BCR is controlling?

I was going to use the mackie emulation, but I couldn't find any newer patches, or recent docs. The bcr2000 remote script seemed to work pretty well.

Some relevant information:
Running mac os 10.6.5, Ableton Live 8.2, bcr firmware 1.10.
I know I could just use midi learn, but I would much prefer an automapped solution.

Thanks in advance.

Hey - If I had two bcrs this is what I would do.

I would use my preset on one of them.
http://shoshin.110mb.com/genmce/bcr2000/Presets/presets.htm
Which thanks to stefan - already combines the bcr preset 1 with a mackie and I added clipfires at peter_resolent suggestion.

I would first try to do the same thing on the second bcr2000.
Set up the control surface input on the second one as mackie control XT. So you will at least have the mackie emulations controlling tracks 1-16 and they will follow banks.
I don't know about the rest of the controls as I don't have two to test in this configuration.

Those actually have way too much functionality for me. I just installed them on one of my bcr's, and there is too much to think about when using it. I have other controllers for clip launching and plugin and rack control.

I really just need control of sends 1 and 2, volume, maybe channel arming.

Maybe my best bet is to set up a new default ableton track with 16 channels, map them all, and save it as default.

Now I just need a mac preset editor...
