Greetings... and a problem.

Greetings... and a problem.

2007-01-29 by i_am_zontar

I just got my BCF2000 today, after researching the best "bang for the
buck" control surfaces currently available. So I go through the bit of
hoop-jumping to configure it in SONAR [v6.01] to have it use the
Mackie emulation. After following the instructions, turning the unit
on in the Mackie/Sonar mode [by holding button 4 across the top row],
open a project in Sonar, and wow! the faders jumped into position, the
mute buttons lit where applicable, and i could even watch the rotary
controls follow some panning I had manually put on some tracks.

Then I hit the mapped STOP button on the BCF.
The sequencer stopped as expected.
Then, OOOPS!
I hit the stop button rather than the start button.

My PC went into a BSOD/STOP error.

Long story short, a couple reboots, recreate the scenario...
SAme result - hitting the mapped STOP button is causing a BSOD.
This is on a system that I had NEVER seen a BSOD on before, in over
two years of use. Not one.

So searching around, I found a thread on a Sonar forum, and they made
reference to some "unofficial" updated USB drivers for the BCF that
had been provided to someone from Behringer directly.
[Version 1.2.1.3]

HAs anyone here heard of these, needed them, or have the same issue
that I am having? I know It's only been a few hours that I have been
working with this thing, but it's an easily repeatable error, and I
have not had ANY other probems of this nature previously.
[I know... I know: Doc, it hurts when I do this. So don't do that.]
But I would really like to be using this thing without worry.

Does anyone HAVE thee updated drivers that could provide them to me so
I can stop adding to the rapidly growing pile of hair on my studio floor?

Sorry to be so long-winded, and thanks in advance for any help/advice.

Zontar.

Replying to my own post, Behringer support responded with an
updated MIDI USB diver [Version 1.2.1.3] and this has solved
the problem.

Drivers uploaded to Files area.
Use at your own risk - and please don't tell Behringer that I have
done this.
Anyone with a registered support account should be able to acquire
them from Behringer - it only took about 36 hours for them to respond
and provide these drivers.

May this solve your problems. It solved mine.

So now the thing rocks.
I have MUCH to learn still, and would like to use it for some of my
DXi and VSTi instruments - is there a place other then the Behringer
site that serves as a repository for instrument profiles? There are
only a few there, and I have not yet found others anyplace...
