BCF Editor...

2007-03-08 by Shanon

Does anyone else have this problem...?

Using Behringers Editor for the BCF... I scan for devices and it finds
my unit. Then I try to access it... 1 second later "Device no longer
available" or something like that. It will not let me edit the BCF for
some reason. Now I'm usinf firmware 1.10 with the 1.1.1.1 midi
driver... lemmie know your thoughts or knowledge... PLEASE!!

Hello,

Please read archives sometimes ;).. This is what I wrote a few weeks ago:

-----------------------------------------------------
Use a 1.4 java runtime environment. For example, I made a bat file to launch
my bcedit with 1.4.2 jre:

@"c:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_01\bin\javaw" -jar bcedit.jar

Obviously you should edit path to your jre because you might have a bit
different version.

If you can't find any 1.4 jre in your \Program Files\Java\, download one from
java.sun.com

Hi i dont know what host program you use,but i never use the editor.
Maybe there is an option in yout host program to assign vst knobs/fades
to midi control, doing that you dont need the editor(editor did'nt work
for me either).
When you completed assigning you can save the templete as a song,
And build any song from this song.

I have seen very strange behavior with BCedit. On PC #1, I needed to
downgrade the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) to 1.4.2 (others have
reported success with 1.4.2_05 and _13) before BCedit played nicely.
On PC #2, I couldn't get it to save anything to the unit, on any of
the above Java versions. Timeout errors. On PC#3 I couldn't even get
the BCedit to see the BCR with 1.1.1.1 drivers.

What worked on PC #3 in the end was to uninstall the 1.1.1.1 drivers,
let XP pick up the BCR as 'usb audio device', and then run BCedit.
Worked like a charm with JRE 1.4.2_05.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
