I'm not sure what's going wrong here.
Are you sure the remote device is sending the correct NRPN messages?
And what button setup (parameters) are you using exactly?
In any case you should be aware of the perhaps counter-intuitive way the BCR
uses the middle point between Value1 and Value2 as the "border": if the
incoming value is closer to Value1 than to Value2, the LED goes ON; if it's
closer to Value2, the LED goes OFF.
