What a coincedence, today I succesfully installed my BCF drivers (due to a reinstalled computer), windows 7, 64 bit and also in USB 3 Mode.

Just used the BEHRINGER_MIDI_X64_1.0.10.zip from http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/BCF2000-WH.aspx and no problems.

You're lucky.... I used the very same driver without success.

But, I also am having no luck with BC Manager seeing my BCF unit via midi....

so I don't know what might be going on.

My computer is flawless with Cubase and everything to do with sequencing.

I am using midi from my RME HDSP audio card......

I think you need to use a stand-alone mode since you're transmitting MIDI trough your MIDI interface. See chapter 4 in the BCF Manual.

For what it's worth; when I was getting started I spoke with Behringer tech support on the phone, they highly recommended NOT installing their driver. They said to just let W7 x64 install its own driver. That's what I did and have had no problems.

Use the native USB_AUDIO device that W7 installs when you plug in the BCR.
Works fine.

Except that (if I'm not mistaken) the Microsoft USB driver for W7 is single-client, which means that you can't access its MIDI I/O ports from multiple applications simultaneously.
And its port names are highly generic, which can get very confusing, especially in mode U-3 and/or with multiple BCFs/BCRs.

The Behringer drivers (for XP and W7 alike) are multi-client.
The Behringer drivers for XP (particularly 1.2.1.3) generate very informative port names; the Behringer driver for W7 is "in between" in this respect.

See section 4 of the BC Manager Manual for more on all these drivers.

Mark.

Let me get this straight:
Behringer's editor for the BCF/BCR2000 (BC-Edit) doesn't work with any Java version later than 1.4 (or so), and is very limited anyway.
And now they're saying that their latest USB driver sucks too?
Dear oh dear...

Did they give a particular reason why they dis-recommended (if that's a word...) their own driver?
Personally I haven't had any real problems with the Behringer USB driver for Windows 7 (64-bit), except that its MIDI I/O port names sometimes seem to contain weird characters (as reported by a few other people as well, I think).

Mark.
