bcr2000 with sysex librarian and dw 8000 workflow?

bcr2000 with sysex librarian and dw 8000 workflow?

2014-02-26 by <frankreynolds66@...>

I have everything connected now. I have the dw preset loaded and it works to tweak. But it's like even when I turn off the keyboard and the bcr and turn it back on, I still have those exact parameter settings and even if I change the sound, those parameters are loaded for the new sound so it sounds bad. I'd just like it so I can always start with a factory set sound and then tweak it, save it, and make a new sound from another factory preset. When I do a sysex dump, does that dump the parameters into sysex librarian. How do I reset those parameters. Not an emergency but if anyone has any ideas or insight, awesome.

Hi
have a look at http://http://www.bwalk.com.au/DW6K/DW6k.html
You don't say what DW you have.
You can download that program but it is only for the DW6000 the DW8k has different sysex and I only have a DW6k.

To keep things aligned or synced up you have to have a program between the BCR and the synth.

If your editor doesn't put out all the correct CC values to the BCR on start up or if it can't 'ask' the synth for its current values and then send them to the BCR to match then you are out of luck.

You can modify the BCR preset so the default settings match your favorite (Factory or otherwise) preset so when you turn on the BCR and select that patch it will be the same as your DW patch.
You will have to go through each encoder and button in the BCR preset and match it to the preset on the DW.

All the best
Royce

Thanks Royce, it's a dw 8000 right in the post title. Yeah I'll have to try to find a program at least I know now that's whats missing so thank you for the insight.

No worries Royce you're the man. I realize now that I don't really need to start out with the factory preset sounds on the korg I can just tweak from any starting point and save patches into sysex librarian. But now even that doesn't seem to work right. I create a patch on the bcr, cool. I dump it into sysex librarian, and when I reload it, it's a different sound altogether. My patch number was 70 for the korg when I reload it from librarian, it's 86, and even when I go back to 70, it sounds different. I guess I really need to find this software but I don't even think it exists.

Frank.
What is your Library program?
You should be able to do a manual (initiated from the DW8k) sysex dump of the preset to MidiOx to check to see if the library program is working properly.

ok I think I have it working now for the most part. The parameters are now saving accurately it's just the actual patch number of the korg that needs to remembered and saved with the patch because it doesn't correspond. That I can certainly live with. Thank you.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
