how do we pressure them???
or atleast make them give us open files for the bcx2000?

what can I do?

IMO, before applying any pressure we need to have a list of dev
requests both hardware and software.

Once we have those, we then need to generate a petition list with the
requests and email addresses of people who want this.

Then we can go to behringer with this and lobby them

Yes, this is a good idea.

Is there any way we can keep all the improvement ideas somewhere on the
discussion list ? Maybe a special place in the files area where everyone can
put a text file with their ideas ? OK, I create the folder where you'll just
have to put your text file (which can be edited, of course).

And we have to give a deadline.

Cheers.

Hi !

OK. I created a folder in the "Files" section of the list's homepage. All
you have to do is upload a text file with your feature requests. The files
can be edited at home and then replaced so that you can add requests if you
want to.

Let's give some time so that everyone can leave their requests. At least
three months.

After that, we'll write a message to Behringer and we'll sign it (all those
wishing to leave their mail address).

Cheers.

I think this thread had gotten a bit off topic. It originally started off about how the software-end of the BCF2000/BCR2000 line hasn't had any recent development and has been left in a state of "perpetual beta."
IMHO, if we organize a petition asking Behringer to finish up BCEdit, we might have a chance. If we petition them to make some hardware modifications (and update their software) - there's no way either is going to happen. And if we petition them for a brand new product... well how does that help the existing BCF/BCR?
Don't get me wrong... if Behringer came out with a a new device that had all the features as the BCF2000 but included a LCD and transport controls, and still had a $200-$300 price point, I would be interested in it.

New poll for bc2000

2007-08-08 by bc2000@yahoogroups.com

Enter your vote today! A new poll has been created for the
bc2000 group:

How would you rate Behringer's software for their BCx2000 series MIDI controllers?

o 1 = Excellent! It does everything I need and more, intuitively and reliably.
o 2 = Good. It does most things I need it to do and I am comfortable with it.
o 3 = Fair. It is not easy to use, but I can get by as it is.
o 4 = Poor. It is not intuitive and it has functional problems.
o 5 = Awful. It doesn't work well or I spend way too much time making it work rather than using it.
