Bc2000 (for the BCF2000 & BCR2000)

dear community,

i'm new here but have looked through the group's posts quite a bit – it's incredible!

i am also quite new to the bcr2000 in general and am currently trying to program some stuff for it in (cycling) max. everything works out well, anyhow 2 things i can't yet wrap my mind around:

1. is it *somehow* possible to send the bcr messages / text it should display (on its led-display)?
   
   
2. this might be very bold: i have managed to send the bcr sysex dumps, starting with [240 0 32...]. in max, i need send sysex as binary numbers (at least for my state of knowledge). now i've read up that sending "BCR-text" needs to be initiated by a "$20" – i don't at all understand this :)

can anybody help me out on one or both of my issues?

sorry if I tell you about a piece of the puzzle you understand ... the $ is short hand for hexadecimal.

10, for examples, could be the next integer after 9 ... or 16 (in base 16) or 4 (in base 4) ...

So Royce is using $ as the "it is hex" ... you can just as easy take any $numbers can convert them to decimal then pop them straight into the BCR (which expects integers).

I am sure others will wade in with answers to your other questions.
