The Ultimate Midi Sysex Programmer

The Ultimate Midi Sysex Programmer

2016-01-09 by Scott Stanley

Hello everyone, I thought I would start a new thread to get everyone's input. Let's just say there was the perfect sysex controller available. Price aside, what features would you want it to have? Here are a few ideas I have to start:

- Lots of Memory

- Endless Encoders with a corresponding OLED displays for parameters

- Standard configurations with the ability to load all data including encoder labels and details via software.

- Minimum 32 encoders which also double as buttons

- Small form factor which is also durable and portable

- USB standard compliant

The reality, I have scoured the internet and nothing like this really exists. There are many with the basic idea:

-ibk10
-pc1600x
-midibox
-kiwitechics patch editor
-stereoping
-ctrlr
-midiquest
-sounddiver
-unisyn
-etc...

but, nothing does what everyone wants.

What does everyone want their programmer to have functionally?

Why is this such a tall order to achieve? How do we make this a reality?
