Introducing myself and my BCR2000

Introducing myself and my BCR2000

2004-08-22 by notoric

A friendly hello to erveryone,

I just bought a bcr2000. Searching the net I came across this
usergroup and joined today. So, hello from Munich, Germany!

My main purpose for this unit is to control Ableton Live:
Starting/stopping clips, controlling effects and volume, etc.
I also own a Behringer FCB1010 (controlling Live while playing
guitar). Until now I used a m-audio Oxygen8 for controlling Live with
fingers but I came to the point where 8 knobs are not enough.

I`m sure there will be much more I can tell and ask but that`s all for
the beginning. Looking forward to interesting discussions! :-)

Greetings

notoric (alex)

hi notoric!

i'm also a bcr2000 owner, and i must admit to being quite impressed
with it - i've been waiting for something like this for quite a while.
infinite controllers would have been great on their own, but the led
feedback is the iceing on the cake.

i'm actually quite temped to get the fader box now, although i don't
really have a problem mixing with the rotary encoders (after years
with my micro mackie!)

i'm looking forward to getting the bcontrol edit software, mainly i
think because i'd like to re-assign the edit/store/learn/exit buttons
like on some of the bcf templates. they'd be perfect for some of the
transport controls and the page up/page down functions which i
currently have assigned to footpedals in cubase.

a minor disappointment is that the bank of 24 rotary ontrollers are
not quite as versatile as the 8 encoders at the top that the bcr
shares with the bcf. specifically, i really like the cut-off, pan and
level display modes for synth editing and it would be great if all the
encoders could display more than the single dot. maybe in an update
perhaps...

also find myself toying with the idea of whether the leds collars
could be made to actually reflect the audio levels in realtime...

cheers,

graham
