I think Reason's BCR/BCF implementation is just the best out there.
Just kills Sonar's ACT (no feedback and the control layout is 2 rows
of 8 continuous controllers and 1 row of 8 buttons - I might become
great, eventually, but at the moment it is very limited. Perhaps
because Roland bought the company and this is the layout for their
controllers)
Reason is where I started to disassemble the sysex for my BCR.
They just set up banks of controls on the BCR with CC as needed.
I haven't seen a mapping of these CC to the front panel controls on
the various Reason devices.
Shouldn't take much to write one. How about it? Y might like to leave
it in the files section for others.
If you want to see what Reason is programming the BCR with, you could
use MidiYoke with MidiOx to save the Sysex and then load the sysex
into my editor or use BC-convert.
