SK1 Powering on issues
2018-01-10 by Joel Saunders
hi all.
I recently purchased a circuit bent (patchbay only) SK1 and it is having some temperamental issues.
It occasionally turns on fine. it seems to be able to turn on more often when the switch is in the on position, and then you plug in the power supply, but not always. It will then turn off, by use of the switch, but you can't turn it back on again with the switch.
I was thinking it could be the contacts on the PCB switch, but i looked, and it seems ok. That is that the 'brushes' on the switch are a little dirty, but still conductive, and the trace on the PCB, has some resistance (50 Ohms), but not broken from what i can tell.
The service manual talks about certain voltage waveforms having to get to the CPU to power on. is this right? anyone ever used an oscilloscope to test casios?
Cheers Joel
