Some of the parts for the CGS48 VCO can be a bit hard to locate in the
uk, particularly the n channel Jfet. Alternatives that work are 2N5486
and J112, both available from Farnell.
Also, SSM2210 transistor array works in place of LM394, just cut off
pins 4 & 5 and it slots straight in and tempco fits nicely on top, bit
cheaper than LM394, again available from Farnell.
It is really worth building this VCO, the sine to saw morph output is
great, very similar to VCS3 and the staircase output works really well
on mine with a very good range.
