Re: 4006 source

I like Halted, but it's a bit like gambling, or halfway like ordering a
semi-surprise grab bag. In other words, ordering from Halted can yield
some.....interesting........results. Don't be surprised if your order gets
fairly screwed up.

As an example of what I mean, on occasion I've ordered 5 of chip A and 10 of
chip B and gotten vice-versa (the numbers vary, but you get the picture).
On one order, to round things out, I ordered a hundred 3904's at a
particular price. Shortly after, I received an email informing me that,
apparantly due to some fine print either real or imagined about quantity or
price of the total purchase or something like that, the 3904 price was
increased greatly and automatically billed to my CC, there you go, thank
you, have a nice day.

If (when) there is a mistake, there is no resolution available, your email
will go ignored, but at Halted's prices, I guess I don't really care.

For those of you wanting to build Ken's PT2395 delay, you probably won't
find a better price for the NE570 anywhere. Of course, you may order an
NE570 and wind up with an NE571 (my experience says there's a 10% chance),
but there you go.

So, you may order 20 4006's and actually wind up with 17 4006's, a couple of
4007's, and maybe a 4046. Plug another quarter in and yank the handle
again, and you may get your full order next time.

For general weirdness, they're not as damaging to the psyche as Futurlec can
be, but they ain't Mouser, either.

Cheers,
Scott
