Re: Cool Use for the CGS Wave Multiplier

2006-01-31 by Scott Stites

Thanks!

I was working on some samples for a filter, and hooked up the sequencer as described, fiddled with the folds control and that timing popped out. I thought it had a pretty bouncy feel to it, so I left it running and went upstairs to do something else while I thought about it. I could hear it chugging along downstairs. I went outside for a while and came back in and.....the timing was totally different. I rushed downstairs and started wondering what had gone wrong - I traced the patch out, everything was OK. I then tweaked the folds pot ever so slightly and *boom* - the timing was back. I'd had the pot right on the edge of where that particular rhythm was generated (moving the folds slightly in this setup can produce quite radical changes in the pulse timing), and it must have been bumped by a certain seven year old lab assistant.....

Dustin - very cool idea, indeed! Never thought of trying that.

The Wave Mutliplier is just the ginchiest, ain't it? =-D

Cheers,
Scott
