Voltage mixing with dual Sequential Switch

2007-06-15 by Andrew

I'd like to build a dual Sequential Switch module, with the two SS's
completely independent. One thing I would do with them is have SS #1
running from a clock, and SS #2 running from the same clock divided
down to /8 speed.

So SS #1 plays a sequence, and SS #2 provides a transposition voltage
so that you end up with a 64 step sequence.

I want to *mix* the outputs of SS #1 and SS #2, but I'm concerned about
how high the total voltage could be (20 volts?). If I take the output
of SS #2 and patch it into the MIX IN of SS #1, will this keep the the
output of SS #1 to 10 volts or less? Or should I use a Mixer module;
can that limit the output voltage?

I realize the range of each SS could be 0~5v (instead of the normal
0~10v), but I'd rather they both have the full 10v range.

Any ideas or suggestions?
thanks! Drew
