A note to remember here is that in the rev 0.5 boards the duty cycle would
be 50%, while all earlier boards would be 0%. See the web page article on
the fix required to the earlier boards.

The simplest way to add the CV pot is as you suggest to add an extra
resistor feeding into pin 6 of the TL072, with it other end connected to
your pot, though if you do this, you would also want to increase the value
of the CV input 1k to 100k or it will swamp any effect the pot would have.
