Re: What kind of output module for my CGS system?

2011-04-16 by djbrow54

I designed a module as my final output module. It's a 3 input mixer with spring reverb and an A-440 reference oscillator. I figured this would allow me to mix everything together, and since it was the last stage, would enable me to "hear" my reference oscillator for tuning. I use the clip indicator all the time. I added a final attenuator so I could drive my power amp directly (although now I don't).

After that, I built another module for my headphone amp, but I wanted to combine other functions in the same module, so I added my master power switch and also a cable tester for opens/shorts/resistance.

Eventually, I decided I wanted stereo and a foot volume pedal so I built a dual VCA with amp power control and AC coupling.

I like the stereo imaging that the YUSynth FFB offers so I tend to run that between the DJB-002 Mixer and the DJB-014 Output interface. I have sample of the stereo imaging on the FFB page.

I have two Oakley Equinox phaser and I modified them so I can run them off of a single LFO. I sometimes patch this in after the FFB.

Then to complete it, I use a Carver PM-600 power amp driving JBL speakers. I like the older Carver PM series since they are convection cooled. That's what I do.

But now that I have a lot of nice modules getting completed, and planning racks of them to play... how do I go from dozens of interesting signals to something like a stereo output? Like some kind of mixer/ headphone amplifier thing? Since I work nights a headphone output of some kind is a must.
