Replace the pulldown 100k resistor with a 1N4148 diode (cathode to
transistor base). You may need to increase the value of the input (100k)
resistor. The value of the input resistor will depend on the hfe of the
individual transistor. You will never get it to track accurately down to
zero though, because the transistor needs 0.6 volts to turn on.
