I've thought of that too, so some of the address lines have positions where
you can cut them, put in a pull-up resistor and switch.

This I'm not sure about as the RAM is dynamic. I'm not sure what will happen
if the write is disabled, but I suspect refreshing of the RAM may fail
(depends on the exact chip type, I think).
