excursions, though I did just spot an error in the diagram. Pin 7 of the
4066 goes to -0.6 volts. The switches are all in the summing node of op-amp
circuits, thus in theory see current, but never voltage while closed, thus
can operate over the whole range. When opened, they do see voltage, which is
where all thoes diodes come in - they clamp the negative excursions to
-0.6V, and thus stay within the operational limits of the switch :)
I've done the same in my sequencial switch, and I'm pretty sure it's in some
of my other designs too.
