multi bandpass filter finished!!

multi bandpass filter finished!!

2005-05-16 by bambam4236

Hey guys

finished my 6 in 1 bandpass filter module on the weekend and WOW im
impressed, I have the 6 filters in a double .com panel and have
decided to put the mixer in a seperate single width panel with the
bandpass all filter in and out jacks at the top and 5 or 6 (depends
on space) inputs below that so i can stilll use it as a mixer ;)

I ran a revolution, microcon and xbase through it last night and was
complety amazed, i didnt think id hear anything close to a tom out
of the revolution but i did. at times it nearly gives the sound a
vocal quality and with the cutoff low on all six the bass is huge, I
guess it nearly turns a single VCO into six with differnt filter
settings because all the outputs are added together so the sound
really impressed me......seriously considering a second one just
because i know id want more than one and was thinking of a simple 1
\4 panel jack connection to link the two seperate filters all in and
out's together. so yeah cannot recommend it highly enough, and
thanks to Ken to have the idea of secondary inputs and outputs for
this purpose.

Quick question and i doubt i can do it but can cv mod be applied?

Not with this particular filter. There is nothing to stop people cascading
six VCFs though. Six steiners anyone? Perhaps a State Variable would be
more suitable. Seriously, doing so has been on the drawing board ever since
I did the bandpass version. It's just a matter of be getting on with it! It
didn't help that they discontinued the CA3080, which I was planning to use.
