VCO question

VCO question

2005-06-05 by charlesosthelder

I got my first VCO working BUT - the output is very low at the
sine/saw, saw and square outputs with the sine/saw nearly inaudible.
I'm too tired to continue staring at it, so where do you think this
problem lay?

Thanks for the help! Now I've got to get my grandson to bed...

Doh! Wrong device. I put a TL071 in place of TL072. I really must
work on these things during the day.

VCO question

2006-02-14 by c10h14no2i

I finsihed the VCO today, and believe it or not........ it doesn't
work either :( :( :( :(
(in my defense, so far every problem I have had in the past couple of
weeks has turned out to be outside of my control.. ray wilson EG - bad
ic, ray wilson sample hold - the schematic was wrong, synthacon filter
- power supply and bad solder pad) so.. if I haven't exceeded my help
quota, on to this problem..

When I first powered it on, w/ headphones plugged into the ramp, I got
sound!! then when I adjusted the zero trim to 0, the sound went up
and up and up to the point where I think the frequency is just so high
that I can't hear it. The more positive volts I put on the zero
trimmer, the lower the tone gets. I have checked for the obvious.. no
obvious soldering mistakes, polarity and components are all correct..
I have to admit, I haven't checked the value of every resistor, but I
am very careful when populating the PCB.

when the 0 trimmer had about 7 volts on ic1 pin7 I checked the FM and
v/o inputs, and they did work

Any ideas where I should start looking for the problem?

thanks. again, and again...
