Gate Comp Drums, and CGSDrums in file section

2007-07-09 by synthwick

Hello again.
Sorry for flooding the list w/ posts these past few days, but Im just
getting back into this after a long break.
I tried searching first, but didn't come up w/ anything.

In the CGSDRUMS file, what modules are you using? Am I hearing the
chime simulator in there, or is it just the cynare?

Then, I can't quite figure out the gated comparator. In that MP3, is
it configured the way it is explained on the gate comp web page?
Noise and clock in, and then different outputs to different drum modules?
Maybe I just got it, after reading the webpage again. I re read the
part about the first input being random, and shifting from there.
At first, I was thinking it was like the ASR, but for gate signals,
simply passing the same signal down the line. But, the first gate
being random sort of makes sense now.

I was proud of myself last night when I finally figured out some of
the possibilities of the logic modules, but now I'm lost again.

ahoy
i believe i was using 2 different lfos into the gated comparators
clock and noise in.
actually i think i had an lfo into a pulse divider, which then had a
slow and a fast
division sent to the comparators inputs.
yes the chime simulator is on that mp3 - i didn't have any cynares
back then
yes different gate outs to different drum sounds
the unit can output the gates - but the random out is indeed a sample
n hold type cv out
have fun with it
