Adding LEDs to Pulse Divider

Adding LEDs to Pulse Divider

2007-07-13 by Andrew

I want to add LEDs indicators to the outputs of a Pulse Divider (cgs36)
and found a posting of how to do so. ("...bung a 1k across each of the
100k pulldowns...")

Before I mess things up (as I am good at messing things up), can anyone
take a peek at the below circuit pic? I made the additions in red so
they're easy to see:

thanks!
Drew

That would work. It would drop your ourpur pulses to about 6 volts, which
may also be a good thing. You could also run a LED with its own dropper
resistor directly between the emitter and ground, which is how I do it these
days.

the dropper Resistor you use for the LEDs is also as mentioned from
andrew 1k ?

thanks.

1k is a good value for ordinary LEDs. If you start using superbright LEDs,
you will need higher values (or get some sunglasses).
