cgs58 Utility LFO

cgs58 Utility LFO

2007-08-08 by dgyrickert2

I am trying to get the Utility LFO to go very slow and I am having an
issue. I have a switch that selects three different speeds (it's an on-
off-on toggle switch) the slowest using a 4.7uf cap. When I select the
4.7uf cap and have the speed knob on the slowest speed (on a triangle
wave)and going into a oscillator the pitch will go low to high smoothly
but when the pitch starts descending it either stops (remaining at the
same pitch) or stop and then start going back up in pitch with out
reaching the low pitches (which it does at faster speeds). Are there
any tips on stabilizing the LFO at slower speeds?

Increase the 100k pot to 500k if you haven't already, and use smaller
capacitors, such as a 1uF NON-electro. Electros leak current. At very slow
speed settings you may find the electro leaking faster than the circuit is
charging it.
