Cheap source for SPDT CTR Off Switches?

Cheap source for SPDT CTR Off Switches?

2003-04-14 by vtl5c3

Hello,

I'm trying to find an affordable source for switches for the two CGS
Gate Sequencers that I hope to finish soon. The C&K 7103 that Ken
recommends are almost $5 apiece at mouser... times 32 and I'll need to
sell one of my kidneys to complete this project. Does anyone know of
a cheaper source in the US? I don't care if they are C&K, as long as
they are good quality.

Thanks,

Romeo

www.unicornelectronics.com has them for $.30 each if you buy 100! the
quality seems fine; i can't remember what brand they are.

Has anybody tried these out? The unicornelectronics is extremely
cheesy. Are the switches any good?

I have used them, they work just fine...

their site is very cheesy, but they ship promptly. i used these switches on
my gate seq, and they work as expected. the brand is TEC Inc., if that
helps.

Thanks for the info. The prices seemed almost too good!

I'll have to give them a try.

Which ones did you get? Are they center off like Ken recommends?

Re: Cheap source for SPDT CTR Off Switches?

2003-04-17 by Scott Deyo

Definitely center off. I also used a center off for the loop/hold. In the
center position the counter cycles through all ten steps and repeats, so
it's like a 2-step pause after each 8 or something. Ken told me what it was
doing, and I pretended to understand :) It's not particularly useful except
for those 5/4 tunes w/ nothing happening on the last beat, but it's there.
