alt. transistors for synthacon vcf

2003-04-29 by bbluthang

hi everyone
ive been hunting tokyo for the
2n2222 and 2n2907 transistors, but these codes are unknown in japan.
i researched the japanese equivalents, in the TO-18 format, but every
shop i went to told me they are obsolete and unavailable.
in the end, i picked out a few trannies that seem to have similar
specs, but i'm unsure as to how critical it is to have the correct
items.
so, is near enough good enough? if not, could anyone point me towards
an alternative?
thanks
andrew

Hi

Twenty-two years ago I built two synthacon VCFs in which I subtituted the
2N2222s
by BC547 and the 2n2907 by a BC557. It worked fine then and it is still
working today !

Cheers
