New- be here!! need info

New- be here!! need info

2003-05-05 by Robert

First off let me say hi to everyone. a little about myself, I am
keyboard dumb cuz I am a bass player(12VER). I do have a toy keyboard
its a Roland E-56.(toy) I do like messing with it... I'm currently
build a 16 tk project studio and I am a metalhead!! I guess thats to
the point. LOL
the info I am looking for is about an early 80's Lowrey Citation
organ. My grandfather is moving and he cannot take this with him. so
it is coming to me as I am the only other musician in the family.
He is the first owner of the organ and has kept it in decent
condition from what I'm told. he says a couple of the keys don't work
and a few of the selector switches are dead also. the apearance is
said to be in "A" condition.
So what can I expect in the area of repair's? are parts avalible for
this?? can someone of limited keyboard experence take on a project
like this???. I have some wiring experence but its all on guitars,
some rack equipment, mixing boards. I went to Ken's site and saw some
pic's of these things from the inside and man that looks like a lot
of wire. LOL.... the inside of my 24 ch 8 buss Behringer mixing board
doesn't look like that!LOL I'm getting it almost for free. the
almost involves going to pick it up...900 mile away!!!!!!!!
other then that its free. would it be worth the trip??
so how about some opinions????

look at www.organservice.com for schematics and parts. Unless the organ has
sentimental value, I would not travel 900 miles for it.
