VCO SPAN needs re-setting

VCO SPAN needs re-setting

2009-05-13 by ErezYaary

I have built several CGS VCOs and I am in constant need to re-set the SPAN trimmer every once in a while.

I am using the SSM chip for greater stability, but the tuning intervals are not always kept, thus am in need to take out the module and play with the SPAN trimmer.

Is it a common issue? Should I take out the SPAN to a multi-turn pot on the front panel?

That sounds like temperature variation caused by lack of contact between the
tempco resistor and the transistor pair.
