new to modules

2010-07-20 by cybernout232

i am new to analog modules. i have a few synthesizers.com modules that i won on ebay. i want to start building my own. i was hoping some one out there could help me on where i can get some module kits that would be compatible with the synth.com mods. i am also new to electronics. so i need something with very good instructions. my wife tells me im just slightly more intelligent than a monkey. so maybe some kits that monkeys can do. i need a VCO kit, envelope generator kit, filter kit(LP, BP, HP),LFO kit and amp kit. i have looked at the MFOS.com page. the thing is i don't know how good they are. any assistance will be greatly appreciated. thanks, Trevor

Hi Trevor,

You might like to sign up to Muff Wiggler's forum, where you can ask

Hello Trevor,

Check out the DIY section of www.electro-music.com. There are a lot
helpful people on that forum as well. There is also the Synth-DIY
mailing list that you might find useful.

Cheers,

Welcome Trevor, I am very new myself. About a year now building, also
started with a synth.com entry system. I personally have found the MFOS
stuff to be great, both learning and sound wise. Rays site is very well laid
out and theres a lot of info on building them through out electro-music.com.
If you dont know how to read a schematic the MFOS site has everything in
easy to follow diagrams as well as schematics so you can learn quickly. Ive
recently been journeying outside the MFOS stuff and have found that I
understand it way better after gaining my balance with the MFOS stuff. Also
bridechamber.com and the elby site has been a lot of help as well.
Yusynth.com is another site that has very well laid out instructions for
their modules. Good luck to ya Trevor be careful though this stuff is
addicting...my girlfriend says she doesnt know who I am anymore.
