You lose one channel, so you're back to a Prophet 5 ;-)

Guessing what parts could be bad, and replacing them "on spec" could go on
forever. This is what scopes are for. Do you know no one who could let you
use one? If the S&H is still a problem, you'll see sawteeth modulation on
the pitch control lines; if they're clean, then the problem is downstream.
There could be something broken in the oscillator itself.
