Tuning problem / S+H capactiors?

Tuning problem / S+H capactiors?

2016-11-13 by dmxkrew@...

One voice of my Polaris is out of tune (voice 1) after perforing AutoTune.

I can also hear a slight portamento on that voice which makes me think the S+H multiplex thing is going on which seems to be a known / common problem.

Can someone point me to info about which caps to check? Should I try reseating the chips as well? Anything else to try?

Thanks!

The capacitors in the S&H circuits are not the kind that fail
and you should not replace them, IMO. If there really is an S&H issue,
it's much more likely to be a 4051 analog switch IC.

Each voice has two 4051B's in the S&H circuit, plus two quad op amps.
I am looking at figure 9-13 in the service manual.

I would look into those parts on the bad voice. Not the polypropylene S&H caps.

Paul D is the expert here.

I can only see one 4051 on each S&H circuit, marked Z62 on the schematic.
Is there really another one, am I being an idiot? It's perfectly
possible of course!
thanks again
