Slider?

Slider?

2017-04-01 by nuwavboy@...

and to top it all off, one of the sliders is broken -

I read that someone had a problem with a slider from syntaur not being the correct size, mine reads 435E 10kB

Good source for this?

Can you email me an image of the slider? I might have an extra left over from a couple Polaris' I refurbed a few years ago.

The sliders were changed at some point in the Polaris.
I was helping a friend repair his Polaris which had a bad slider.
He also had a spare front panel from another Polaris. But when
we looked at it, the sliders were completely different. Not usable mechanically.
Paul D can back me up on this.

So anyway, be careful when getting a slider from another Polaris to use in
yours.

Yeah, I've encountered two slider types which is why I asked for a photo before confirming I've got one for you.

How much shorter? Would it be possible to put a spacer between the body and the board to lift the slider up, and have the slider pins still reach the pads?

The slider when measured from the circuit board to the top of the slider is 1". The length is 1 3/4". I will put some photos up.

It seems I've put my spare parts somewhere safe. ;) I did measure the eBay parts installed in the Polaris, though... they sit about 0.225" above the top surface of the Polaris. I'm sure you could put a spacer underneath the potentiometers to raise them a bit.

Datasheet linked from the eBay page:
It looks like there's 3.5 mm solder lead length.
