Hello all, Does anybody know where I can get the footswitches for my CP. Can I use any type of footswitch or does the Polaris only work with its own? Anybody out there willing to sell their pedals let me know. Thanks Marco

I think they aren't exactly normal, but normal ones should work (the polaris ones are TRS if i remember correctly, not TS like normal). i'm actually using mine with a korg a2 :) so they're at least wired like normal. If anyone needs them, I would give mine up in trade for some 'regular' momentary-on footswitches (if regular ones don't work)... corley brigman intel corp. corley.brigman@...

Hello, Just a question to all. Some while ago I started with this Yahoogroups because there wasn't anything for Polarisses on the internet. Now that there is a extrodinairy Polaris section at the Rhodes Chroma website that void is thankfully filled. ( http://www.rhodeschroma.com/?id=polaris ) I just discovered the factory pathes overthere. I was looking ages for them! What do you guys expect more from this group/list? Do you think its usefull? Do you think its OK? Do you think it could be better in any way? Thanks, Fuse ---------------------------------------- http://www.digitaloperationtheater.com

> (the polaris ones are TRS if i remember correctly, not TS like normal)... I can confirm Corley's note. The foot switches have TRS connectors. In their 'normal' position, they short between the tip and ring - when depressed, the contacts open up. (The sleeve is just a shield - it is connected to the chassis of the switch body).

Hello all, I actually found a good footswitch for the CP's metro footswitch in. Its a SCI Prophet 600 footswitch, works just fine. Im a newbie to the Polaris (and synthesis in general), what else can the metro footswitch do? I tried connecting a PS-10 Sustain pedal to the SUS in but guess it doesnt work. Anybody know any good sustain pedals work on this beast? Alright thanks again. Marco

Nevermind, PS-10 sustain pedal works just fine (at least it sustains notes). The SCI Prophet 600 footswitch can be found at www.winecountrysequential.com It works great as the tempo footswitch. If anybody else knows what these pedals can do other than tempo and sustain let me know. Looking at the Assignable Control of the CP i can see a couple of pedal controls (cutoff pedal, pitch pedal, etc.) but nothing really happens when I use the pedals. To my knowledge the CP is multitimbral. How can I get it to play these 8 different sounds? Right now I can only hear 2 when I split the kybd and use link upper or lower or just link unison. Regards, Marco

Very, although not heavily populated or trafficed, I've learned plenty here...next time I open my Polaris, I will most definately have a hot glue gun in hand, something I never would have guessed to try for the internal cable stability without this group. Cheers to that! > Do you think its OK? Sure, it's yahoo, but nothing is perfect ;) > Do you think it could be better in any way? Always room for improvement, it doesn't have to be better to keep me here.
