New Polaris membrane switch update

New Polaris membrane switch update

2012-01-14 by Paul D. DeRocco

For all of you who've been waiting for so long, these should finally be
available around the beginning of February. The first prototypes turned out
to be too thin, resulting in higher capacitance to the panel, which caused
some switches to spuriously activate the next switch on the same data line
in the scan sequence. However, I just got one more prototype that has a
thicker base, and it works fine, so I'll be placing a quantity order on
Monday. I'm told that the run will take three to four weeks. They look
beautiful, by the way.

When they're ready, I'll be selling them here first, for $180 a set plus
shipping. Eventually, I'll list them on eBay for a little more. I
photographed the process of installing them, and Chris Ryan has graciously
offered to let me post the illustrated instructions on the
www.rhodeschroma.com web site.

Hold off on e-mailing me your orders until I'm set up to receive them via
Paypal. I'll post an announcement when they're available.

I agree!
Thanks for saving an amazing machine.
My ChromaPolaris does not need the membrane just yet,but I feel good knowing that I can ivest time using this instrument and any other ChromaPolaris that I acquire in projects in the studio and/or live and be able re-create the sound with out having a dead machine when I need it.
Thank you very much Paul, for taking the initiative to develop the membrane assemble.
Sincerely
Thomas Rizzi
