hi, i reciently got swindeled on ebay when buying a bit one. the seller claimed it was in perfect working condition but its actually quite broken. im going to file all the reports i can (paypal, ebay, amex, etc.) to try to get at least some of my money back but in any case, it seems i am now the not so proud owner of a broken bit one. here are its problems: -the upper selection does not seem to be working at all. (the upper button does not light up, no patch is selected, no upper output.) -between 6-8 keys are either dead or the contact is sticking. -there might be a broken solder joint. however, i cant quite tell if it was ever attached or if its really broken. (i think its a broken connection though.) there may be more wrong with that i havent figured out yet but thats what i know so far. i am new to old analogs (except my akai ax 73, which has required no maintence) so i dont even know what all the internal trim pots do. of course i have neither a manual nor a schematic for it. i've attempted to make some adjustments though. i was able to get the volume back to a reasonable level and i've managed to get the tuning at least close. when i recieved it the volume was almost non existant and the tuning couldnt have possibly been further out. i dont know what the last owner was doing with it. the pitch bend doesnt bend the oscilators evenly either. is the patch memory in the bit one supposed to erase when the synth is turned off or do i just have a dead battery? if its the latter, where is it and what type do i need to replace it with? any help and/or advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated. thanks, -ugo
