Hello, I don't have the elka yet, the seller is kind of strange and has waited until paypal put the funds in their account before they will ship. it's kind of silly, but, i guess that's how they want it to be. it should be on it's way soon, though, and i'm kind of excited to see how it sounds and stuff. Where did you get linear pots for your performer? I need to replace some of the old ones in mine that are broken off. I know Piher makes them, but I hear people using other brands in there too, that fit similarily. With my performer, the strings didn't work at all. The brass worked fine, and the volume for the brass and the main volume worked fine. You could have bad SSM2040/2030 chips, or the tantalums could be fried. The tantalums are the little blue capaciters that are on the power supply decoupling, they are very small. They look like solid blue rice krispies. You'll also notice many of them on the underside of the keyboard, there is one for each key. That will help you identify them, if you didn't know what they were. The ones you are looking for are on the board connected to the heat sink. I could get more in detail about all of it if you wanted me to. You should test all of the voltage regulators and see if they are still working. Then you have to test each output voltage from the board. The green wires are all ground. Do the lights for 8' and 16' strings light up? How about the light for brass ON? What does your performer do? Does it play at all? Tell me what's going on with it when you try to use it and then i can help you more. Funny that you read the old messages, that was a good thing to do. If you read carefully, it seems that most of the time, I seem to be the only one who seems to say anything worth while about repairing the performer. When I got mine, I had a lot of trouble finding help, and I found one person that helped me out with it, and was very patient. When I get the Elka, I promise that I'll tell you everything about it, and I'll send you samples of how it sounds. I can't wait for it to get here.
