Crumar DS-1 Problem

Crumar DS-1 Problem

2004-04-30 by Andrew R. Grantham

Hi. I just got a Crumar DS-1 off of eBay and it is not functioning. It appears it was
damaged in shipping.

There are two sets of eight keys each which are in the wrong octave. I'm guessing there is
a chip somewhere which controls the oscillators and has either come loose or needs
replacing.

Anyone know even where inside the case I'm likely to find what I'm looking for? The
boards on the left side were definitely impacted as the black plastic arm that holds them in
place was snapped and sitting on top of them. When I fiddle with the frontmost board, the
pitches change. Could it simply be a bad solder joint or to on this board or connection?

Thanks!

If anyone knows of anywhere PDF schematics are, I'd be MOST grateful. Even the DS-2
schematics.
