Orchestrator & Performer

Orchestrator & Performer

2006-05-27 by pedroc_diaz

Hi. Does anybody know where I can get schematics for either the
Orchestrator or the Performer? I had them repaired in a shop here
(Mexico), but I don't think they did a good job: the keys that were
not functioning do work (i guess they only needed cleaning), but the
filters are even more messed up.
Hope someone can help.

Cheers!

Hi PedroC !

You can find schematics for the Orchestrator (actually Multiman-S) in
our group's files section. The synths are the same, only the name is
different. I have uploaded these schematics to the files
section just recently.
I hope that it will help.

Hi, Jack!

Thank you very much for the file! I'll start to check the
Orchestrator on sunday, hope the hard-to-find components are not
involved in the malfunction.

Thanks again, cheers!

Does anyone of you (experts) know if there's a substantial difference
between the Performer, and the Orchestrator (Multiman-S), especially in
regard to be strings section?
Thanks.

Thanks for your answer.

Do you mean you are sure - or just think? - the string section of the
Performer is totally different, compared to (f.e.) the
Orchestrator/Multiman-S?

Do you - or anyone else here- maybe also know if the strings sound of
all - or just some - Crumar synthesizers is the same as that of the
Stringman?

Good afternoon,
Personally, I wouldn't know if there's a difference, since I only own a Performer, but after a little research on the internet I found this:
"Oddly enough, despite coming from the same family as their Performer, the Multiman strings differed in tone and texture and were somehow 'thinner'. Futhermore, the strings lacked the 'attack' control offered by the Performer making them less flexible."
Cheers,
Ridzert

Hi

First, you can vacuum inside all the case with a hoover and a brush ( carefull with the connexions and solderings) and then clean up circuits with a special liquid in aerosol... ( in France, it's call 'diélectrique') You spray it on the circuits and it's eats the dust.

wow your the first one i've met who has a Ds-2 too, where did you buy it?
I'm from the philippines by the way, I bought mine through a thrift store.
I'm thinking of selling mine though, because its hard to gig and I'm
considering buying another synth. but i'm really having a hard time to let
it go! If ever, would you let go of yours? (sounds like a dramatic question

mine seems to work fine except that it sounds dirty, that's why I'm posting
about the cleaning stuff.

don't use cleaner with oil and alcohol, use the one with alcohol only or
you can throw away your pots a few weeks after "cleaning"

Hi, there. If you are going to sell your DS-2, please let me know.
I used to have a DS-2 and now have a DS-1. I miss the extra features
of the DS-2 and would definitely be interested.

i had one, bought anotherone cheap for spareparts but had it repaired,
so now i've two.
to be short: don't sell it too easily, you might seriuosly regret it.
it sound great and is so easy to twist around live ( oke no memories,
but all those knobs , that great layout etc etc.)
just my five cents i guess.
